QPS first to retail USB 2.0 storage
By Ian Chiu,
November 16, 2000

Comdex 2000 QPS Inc. today revealed plans for USB.2 0 storage devices at Comdex Fall 2000, in Las Vegas.

The products include QPS Que! CD-RW, DVD-RAM, hard drives and the M3 Dual drive (hard drive plus removable media drive). They will be available in January 2001.

Specifications for these devices have not been disclosed yet. However, we believe they will be similar to that of the FireWire counterparts.

"By adding the new industry-standard connector to its product line, QPS will offer PC users the fastest possible external storage devices. "The development of peripherals using the USB 2.0 serial interface will be an important issue next year. We offer cutting-edge storage solutions that will utilize the blazing speeds made possible with USB 2.0," said Pierre Abboud, vice president of QPS.

Beginning early next year, we shall see whether or not USB 2.0 is just hype with these bandwidth-hungry hardware arriving on the market.
